It’s more complicated with Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular, as these providers mostly operate using the CDMA technology that Metro PCS dropped back in 2015. For example, Barring the iPhone 4 all Verizon and U.S Cellular iPhones are compatible with MetroPCS. That said, a majority of other phones that have been using Sprint, Verizon or US Cellular networks will not work with MetroPCS.
One last thing: Don’t get discouraged if you have a Sprint, Verizon or US Cellular phone and want to use MetroPCS’s service. Many newer phones are designed to operate using either CDMA or GSM technology, which makes them far more versatile when you want to switch carriers. Again, always check with MetroPCS first, as it’s always possible your unique model of the phone will be compatible.
